Stepping into Your Destiny – Karen Austin

I was recently meditating on the scriptures in Exodus when the Lord was inviting Moses to step into his destiny. During his day-to-day tasks, tending his father-in-law’s flock, he saw a burning bush which was not consumed by the fire. Scripture says that Moses turned aside to look at this strange sight. It was out of this burning bush, which was aflame with the fire of God, which Moses was told to take off his sandals because it was holy ground. Taking off his sandals could be viewed as taking off the residue of his natural walk. As he was stepping onto this holy ground in the presence of the Lord, he was also stepping into his holy assignment. God was now calling him to walk in a place of spiritual authority which would cause the people of Israel to be set free from their four hundred years of bondage in Egypt. God said he was sending Moses to bring His people out from the control of Pharaoh and into the land that He promised them years ago.

Moses had all sorts of excuses as to why he could not fulfill this enormous call. He asked God, “Who am I that I am to go to Pharaoh?” In response to Moses’ doubt that the Israelites would believe and follow him, the Lord said to tell them, “The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ Exodus 3:15. Moses then attempted to reason with God that the people still wouldn’t believe him. It was then the Lord asked him to throw down the staff that was in his hand. “Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it [emphasis mine]. Then the Lord said to him, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail.” So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. “This,” said the Lord, “is so that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you.” Exodus 4:4-5. There were other signs that God gave Moses to answer his objections and his fears. These signs would assure Moses of these two things: 1) this was his destiny 2) the Lord would be with him. The Father had full confidence in Moses to fulfill his assignment. All He needed was Moses’ obedience.

Moses did exactly what I would have done…RAN!!!! If you know me very well at all, you know that I hate snakes! It was here that Moses had to confront his fear. Can you imagine being afraid of snakes and being told to pick it up by its tail??? Moses first ran in fear, but then in obedience to the word of the Lord, he overcame his fear and picked up the snake. This was not only a test for Moses to conquer his fear, but was also a lesson on the faithfulness of God to supernaturally protect him when he followed His instructions. He saw that God would back up what He told him to do.

You see, the safest place that you can be is in the will of the Lord. It doesn’t mean everything will be perfect. It does mean that the Father will protect you and lead you to a place of victory as you follow the leading of Holy Spirit. Psalm 91 is a Holy Spirit safe zone that we can live from if we are obedient to these two verses: 91:1 “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” – and – 91:2 “I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” It is in the dwelling and in the saying what we believe (what is in alignment with His word) that we are protected. I encourage you to read Psalm 91, especially in the Passion Translation.

So I ask you today, what is it that the Lord is asking you to do? You may have been in the secret place with Him or in the midst of your daily obligations that you heard His voice and prompting you of an assignment He has for you. It may be that you know what you are called to do, but ran as Moses did. It may not be to deliver a nation. It may not even be to deliver a city. But whatever He is asking you to do, it is for the expansion of the Kingdom of God!

As I have said previously, you were chosen to live in these exciting final days. We have entered the time of His determined end-time events that are taking place rapidly. I encourage you to take your fears, insecurities or whatever else you envision standing in the way of your destiny to the Father. He will encourage you and bring you truth. When He calls you to fulfill a particular thing in the earth, which He has every one of us, He will be faithful as He was Moses. He will give you everything we need and will empower you beyond your own abilities and talents to complete the divine assignment. He wants to set you aflame with the fire of God. He has full confidence that you can fulfill your destiny. All He needs is your obedience.

From the moment of our birth upon this earth, the quest for acceptance, true unconditional love was already beating in our very being. We came from a place of unconditional love, as we were created and formed by our Father’s loving hands. “You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside,
and wove them all together in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13.But how could we be searching for something that we never knew existed?

My belief is that we knew the pure love of our Heavenly Father in the realm of eternity. Then when we were born flesh and blood, we instinctively knew we were missing something that made us whole. We quickly learned though how to make our parents jump and give us what we wanted.

As we grew into a toddler, the closest thing to fulfilling the empty place in our hearts was our family. Some of us were blessed to live in a family that affirmed us, many did not. Still, even the best of families could not fill that which we sought.

We then became of age to leave our secure home, our dependence on our parents and off to school we went. We believed everyone would love and dote on us as our parents. We believed everyone was just like us. We had not been harshly judged, told we looked funny, or didn’t wear the latest fashion. For the most part, we had been happy.

Once again, we looked to be accepted. The games we played with our parents to get what we wanted didn’t work with our teachers. We were just one of many who were a little “princess” or “prince”. We began playing sports or joined clubs – or wished that we did, but maybe we didn’t have the money or talent to be included. We wanted to belong to something so much and be like everyone else, so we would fit in and be affirmed. By this time, we were willing to try anything to be loved and accepted. Some of us studied hard to make perfect grades. Others joined every extracurricular activity they could to be “in the crowd”. Though some of our attempts we stumbled on to some things we were good at. Little did we realize that these were a gift that our Heavenly Father deposited into us for His glory.

All the while, our Father was watching over us…seeing the wrong choices we made, seeing the hurt and rejection we endured. He saw some of us ended up hiding from others, even ourselves. Still, in His love, He was always lovingly reaching out to us…longing for us to turn to Him.

We went on to search for the exact career that would fill that still aching need to be loved as we had experienced by our Heavenly Father. We thought being fulfilled was being successful – making it in the world so we would have the acceptance of our peers and our neighbors. We met Mr. or Miss Perfect, got married and had children. All this is wonderful but still….the longing remained.

Somewhere along the way, we finally heard the call of our Father. We accepted Jesus as our Savior. His Presence enveloped us and the pure love. That which we have been seeking our whole life was now not only revealed. Unfortunately, many of us learned more laws than unconditional love. We then began again looking for acceptance from our Pastors and those we deemed “spiritual”. We volunteered for everything there was to do. We worked in the nursery, parked cars, cleaned and did lawn work. We fed the poor, joined the choir and went to nursing homes. Still…we knew there was more. We accepted Him as Savior, but had yet to allow Him to be Lord. Still, all of this is just the Outer Court.

“I am calling you up and I am calling you out. I will direct you and I will lead you. I have been training your spirit to follow after Me and My ways. Even in times of trouble, your heart was still tuned towards Me. Watch and see what I will do through you as you yield yourself to Me.

Stay pure that I may work through you as I desire. I will no longer be confined within the boundaries of old mindsets. I have been working in those who are Mine, new garments to hold the new wine that is being poured out upon the earth. “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. Otherwise, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.” (Mark 2:21-22, NIV) For I shall do a new thing, such as has never been seen by man. There will be miracles here and miracles there. There will be such an outpouring upon your sons and your daughters that you hearts will overflow with joy. My raw power will be on display.

Even in worship, My Presence will be so heavy, so strong that many will be drawn into that place. Fear, shame, intimidation will not be able to keep them bound as they experience My love for them. For you see, this is the hour of My love being revealed in such a greater measure because the hearts of many are drawing Me near.

Keep your heart continually pure and connected to Mine. You must allow Me to continue a deep work of cleansing in your heart – removing thoughts, ideas, mindsets, traditions and even your opinions. For you to minister from this deep realm – it must come from “the deep” in you. You must continue to walk in humility. Man will only be transformed when their heart is touched with My Spirit delving into the depths of their hidden pain, impurity, anger, resentment and shame to bring healing and restoration. Just as MRIs and CAT scans can see clearly and find foreign matters in the natural body, so shall My discernment increase in greater levels to enable you to see that which should be foreign in the heart of those who are Mine.

A desire for righteousness is rising within My people. There is a cry for truth and no more compromise. These are ones who will stand for justice and freedom. They are not willing to compromise and allow evil to prevail. I have placed destiny within their hearts for the days you are in… a call to change their nation and even their world. Did not My disciples turn the world upside down with My Kingdom truths and My Kingdom authority?

No longer look back for the pattern, for the old will not get you to the destiny that I have for you. This must be a walk of faith, trusting Me as I lead you into the land of promise, what I have prepared before the beginning of time. All that has been done before has paved the way for today – this last day move. Be ready. Seek Me.

Are you be willing to be different? To step out from that which was and into that which is to be? Will you allow Me to manifest Myself through you as I desire and to whom I choose? You must not be afraid of the criticism of man. My Word will testify of itself.

Allow Me to work in you, finalizing the work for the building of My dwelling place – you.”

The Lord is Seeking, YOU – Karen Austin

I have been pondering the signs we see taking place before our eyes; the prophetic words that we are hearing that correlate with the Scriptures telling us that these are the last of the last days. We have prayed for these days. We looked forward to them with much anticipation. We have prayed for revival and get excited thinking of the revivals of the past that we want to experience again. But what if this move of God is completely different from what we have experienced before? Are we ready and willing to accept the responsibility that comes with being His last days generation?

There are multitudes that are waiting to hear the true gospel. There are many who are sick and have need of the Healer. There are so, so many who are trying to make the best of the circumstances they find themselves in, but are truly afraid.

When I think of the weight of what it means to be His disciple and a witness of Christ in this last move of God, I ask the Father, “Am I ready?” I am asking Him to search my heart because I want to be one who will represent Him well. I want to be one whose heart is pure so that my motives will be for Christ alone and point others only to Him. I don’t want to be presumptuous but be led fully by His Spirit.

The Word says “For the eyes of the LORD roam to and fro over all the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is fully devoted to Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9.He is looking for ones such as you and I. Of all the times in history, you and I have been chosen by the Father to be alive in this hour. He has placed inside each of us what it will take to represent Him well upon this earth. We each have experienced life upon the mountain tops and we have experienced life in the valleys. But yet, we are still standing. We are still loving Him just as much as the day we accepted Jesus…probably we love Him so much more…because we know Him.

The thing is this, He knows us. He knows our rising and our sitting down. He knows our thoughts from afar [Psalm 139:2]. He knows the words we will say even before we say them [Psalm 139:4]. He knows you. He has trusted you with His precious Holy Spirit. He knows our weaknesses and our strengths…yet He chose us… He chose you.

Our confidence must now be in Him, no longer looking at our own abilities or inabilities. It is Christ in us, the hope of glory that the world is looking for. I have been so blessed by the websites, Facebook pages and videos where His church is coming out of hiding, out of places of intimidation and turning from the fear of man to the fear of God.

Our Father knows the end from the beginning…and He has chosen you to be part of revealing His glory upon the earth. My brothers and sisters in Christ…it is SHOWTIME for the greatest move of God this earth has ever seen and YOU are chosen to be a part!!
