The Obstacle Can Become the Blessing – Karen Austin

We know the story of Moses in Exodus where he was given the assignment to set God’s people free. He was well aware of his shortcomings and bravely stated them to God, as if God didn’t already know. Moses was given an assignment that was so big, that it would have to take the supernatural to fulfill it. Time after time, God showed Himself greater than any acts the magicians of Pharaoh could perform. He allowed calamity and even death upon the Egyptian’s first born, yet all the while keeping His people safe. He even caused the Egyptians to give them gold, silver and clothing as they exited that place of slavery. All was looking good to the Israelites. After over 400 years, they were finally being set free from slavery.

We read that Moses and his people set out from Egypt and came to the place where they knew they had to cross. All they saw was an obstacle in front of them…the Red Sea. I would say that is quite the obstacle. Then they heard the hoof beats of the Egyptian army horses coming up behind them! Six hundred of the finest warriors were now coming in from behind. Once again, the Israelites forgot the bigness of their God.

Exodus 14:21 “Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove back the sea with a strong east wind that turned it into dry land. So the waters were divided,”

That body of water was holding them back from crossing over into what God had promised them. But God dried up what was holding them back. The Israelites had to make a decision to cross over as Moses held his staff over the sea. God made a way where there was absolutely no way, but it took faith for them to make the step.

Another place we read of water being an obstacle is in 1 Kings 17. Ahab was the most evil of the kings of the land. Elijah was told by God to flee after he pronounced a drought in Israel until the Lord instructed him to decree the drought be lifted. He was instructed to go and remain by the Brook Cherith. At this place the ravens would feed him and he was to drink water from the brook. But after a while, the brook dried up.

God told Elijah to camp there. The ravens were feeding him, but the brook dried up. Elijah had not been disobedient. But God had a purpose in drying up the brook. He had another assignment for him. Elijah was told to go to the home of a widow in Zarephath. There the widow had food. Elijah had a roof over his head.

Some of you may have recently experienced that which was going well in your life or ministry just dry up. You were obeying God and kept your heart pure. It could very well be that God is drying up that which is holding you back. There may be something even better that before you, a Zarephath, but you have to release that which was and step out into that which will be.

All of us will face obstacles before us as the Israelite’s and Elijah. But as we put our faith in the One who knows our destiny, we will be given a way to cross over and enter in, regardless of what we are facing. The Father knows how to dry up that which is holding you bank and He knows when to dry up that which has been your sustenance so you will go on to your next place of assignment

Becoming a Move of God – Karen Austin

As we await a tearing down of evil laws and unrighteous influencers in our nation, many believe as we sit and wait, it will all just happen. I speak of both Republicans and Democratic political parties. Many believe if we get the right people in office things will change, and they will to a certain degree. But dare I say, this is what got our nation where it is today. Now, we are to absolutely vote for political leaders who share our Biblical worldview. It takes not only righteous leaders, but it takes us, the church, to pray and be a beacon of light to our nations. We are not to be a light-filled city hidden under a basket. It takes us, His representatives, to be His voice of righteousness. God paid a great price for His church to carry and release His governmental authority in our nations. Political leaders can only do so much. We, the people of His Kingdom, have the responsibility to regulate the spiritual temperature of our nation.

While this is true of our nation, my focus is on the church. Our nation will change when the church changes. All of us are praying and desiring a great spiritual awakening. I do know it is going to happen! But I also believe to accomplish all the Father desires to release, we must change our focus from waiting and depending on our spiritual leaders to be the only catalyst. Absolutely, they carry great weight in the spirit and are vital! To fulfill the magnitude of what God desires to release around the world, it will be impossible for our Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and Evangelist to do it all. It must also be, we the people, just as for our nations.

It is a time for a “Let My People Go” movement. Each one of us have gifts and talents that the Lord has given us to use as we represent Him in the earth. We must stop seeing ourselves as “less than” when it comes to being used by God. Every one of you were chosen by our Father in Heaven. He looked down through eternity to this day and He chose you to be alive and to be a part of the end-time generation. I believe those who have gone on before us, Abraham, Moses, Elijah, and others longed to see this day that we have been given the privileged to not only see, but to be an active participant. Just imagine, many of them prophesied about this very day that you are living in!

This will take us departing from our spiritual cruise ships of comfort and spiritual apathy to step out into the deep with Jesus. Anything achieved, which has resulted in a lasting value, had a price. It is time for us to count the cost and rise up to obtain our inheritance and give Him the reward of His suffering!

It is time we took hold of the scepter the King is extending to His Bride and accept our God given destinies. We will accomplish much together as we wield our Sword of the Spirit – the Word. As each of you step into your position, whether as an executive, a worshiper, a child care worker, a janitor or if you are called to the five-fold ministry, we ALL have a place as a dispenser of His Kingdom authority.

Every one of your prayers can shake nations. Every song of the Lord you sing releases His frequency to shift atmospheres. You are a light being and when you enter places of darkness, you are to release your light and darkness must flee!

Rise up and ask the Father to allow you to see yourself as He sees you. You are a mighty warrior! You are a Kingdom carrier! You are destined to be an overcomer and to change the world around you! You are a move of God! When we finally come together with this mindset…look out world! We will shift the culture. The biggest wave of His Spirit will flood this earth to rescue and reap a harvest of souls!

“Your lives light up the world. Let others see your light from a distance, for how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that the commendable things you do will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-17

Ekklesia: The Called out Ones – Karen Austin

As I was reading the story in Exodus 9-12 regarding the first Passover, the words the Lord spoke to Moses stood out to me, “Let My people go.” The sins of God’s people were many, still, the Father’s heart was pursuing His people. After 400 years of hearing the cries of His people. He sent a deliverer named Moses.

Moses had many experiences with God. The first being when he saw the bush burning, but not being consumed by the fire. Most of you have had an experience(s) with God. They may not have been as dramatic as Moses’, but God revealed Himself to you. It could have been when you were saved or filled with the Spirit; or maybe through answered prayer. Somewhere along your life, He has made Himself real to you.

I am sure you are like me… like the Israelites, we rebelled against God, but in His faithfulness, He drew you out just as Moses was drawn out of the water. The Father drew you out and took you to Himself to nurture you in His ways. The Israelites knew his actions, but Moses knew His ways. The Father is searching for those who like Moses, those who will turn aside and look…not just pass by when He reveals Himself. He is looking for those who desire to know His heart, to seek His face and not just His hand – just what He can do for them.

I have heard it said that this is the first Passover that Israel has been shut in since that very first Passover. I sense there is something very significant about Passover this year and Resurrection Sunday. There are things that God is rearranging and putting in order that we may not be aware of right at this moment in time, but we will soon see.

The first commandment that God gave to His chosen people dealt with worship. “I AM the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery, You shall have no other Gods before Me.” Deuteronomy 5:6-7.

Just as worship was the first commandment to God’s people when they were set free, worship should be our first response to being set free! The idols we have laid down during this time of being shut in; we must be mindful not to pick them up again. He must remain first and foremost in our lives. Once again He is saying to that which has had us bound…be it schedules, anxieties, fear or whatever has kept you from being near His heart, “Let My people go, so they may worship Me.”

Moses’ name means “Drawn Out”. We, His Bride are called the Ekklesia, the called out ones. He is calling those who have sought His face, those who have carried the burden of His heart….He is calling you out of this season of being hidden. He has delivered you to be a deliverer!

I pray that you and your family receive the fullness of what the Lord wants to do for you and in you during this holy season. May you be set free from all that binds and hinders you. May you walk into the freedom that Christ gave His life to set you free from. Be released! Be healed! Rejoice for the Lord your God has redeemed you with the precious blood of the Lamb….there is power in the Blood…the Blood of Jesus!
