Going Beyond the Veil – Karen Austin

As I began reading some of my earlier journals, I found this entry written September 3, 2001. I had been crying out to the Lord to go beyond the veil…into the Holy of Holies. This concept was very new to me but it was a deep, burning hunger and desire in My heart. I knew there was more and I must pursue Him! It has definitely been a journey since those early days. I share below what the Lord said to me that day, in my early days of pressing in to abide under the shadow of the Almighty. My prayer is that this blesses you no matter where you are on your journey with our Lord.

“I have been taking you step-by-step from the very beginning. This is what I do with all My people. Your desire for Me must be greater than any desire of your flesh- your desire for sleep, for food, for relationships – anything you place before Me in your life. When your desire for Me reaches a place where all these other desires of the flesh are put aside, this is when you will enter in beyond the veil. “Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians 5:24

For the veil of the flesh must be crucified. “The cravings of the self-life are obvious: Sexual immorality, lustful thoughts, pornography, chasing after things instead of God, manipulating others, hatred of those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentment when others are favored, temper tantrums, angry quarrels, only thinking of yourself, being in love with your own opinions, being envious of the blessings of others, murder, uncontrolled addictions, wild parties, and all other similar behavior.” Galatians 5:19-21.

As I empower you to deal with the lusts of your flesh, an exposing of your soul, the hidden things of the heart,will also be healed as you yield them to Me. Then and only then will I truly be Lord of your life. Then you will be free to do only as the Father does and you will see purely. “It’s true that all is pure to those who have pure hearts, but to the corrupt unbelievers nothing is pure. Their minds and consciences are defiled.” Titus 1:15. During this process motives will be exposed. Do not fret when something is exposed. My grace will be there to heal and to comfort. Just ask Me.

Only the pure in heart shall see Me. Come, do not hold back. Come to Me daily and allow Me to reveal those things which are hidden. I will be working in you even throughout your day, if you invite Me. Some things take a while to come to the surface. This will be a life-long process as you will never “arrive” this side of glory. So do not get discouraged. Remember, I look at the heart and I see your desire for Me. What you don’t see yet, is My desire for you.”

Once Upon a Time – Gary Florence

I am sure we all have read “Once Upon a Time” stories, like once upon a time there was a king who lived far, far, far away in a kingdom etc. Did you know before Christ was born there were Greek philosophers who believed that there was a “Supreme Being”? This Supreme Being”  lived far, far, far away in the heavens, where his kingdom was, and that mindset has been passed down to the western church even to this day but now people refer to Him as God.

In order to build muscles in the natural you have to stretch them until they tear and they will then rebuild themselves even stronger. Can we allow our spiritual muscles to be stretched to where we can tear away from vain philosophy and the traditions of man?  What if God is but a breath away? Remember when Jesus said “Some will say that the kingdom is here and others will say no the kingdom is over there but I say to you the kingdom of God is within you.” Christ inside of us the hope of glory. Where the king is you will also find His kingdom. So what if this King Jesus’ kingdom isn’t in a far, far, far away land but is inside of us?

When Jesus was born didn’t He bring His kingdom with Him remember the angelic ( who are part of His Kingdom) gathered on the hill side to sing praises to God because where the King is so is His Kingdom. Just saying that statement causes my natural mind to rise up and rebel, but the things of the natural mind cannot comprehend the things of the spirit. Jesus told His disciples “I go to prepare a place for you so that where I am you too can also be” I am just asking a question here? What if that place He is preparing is us so that we may mature into sons and daughters and manifest His kingdom here on earth? Remember where the King is so is His kingdom.

When Jesus died on the cross, the temple’s veil was ripped from top to bottom exposing the Holy of Holies. What if, because of Christ inside of us, the Holy of Holies (Christ) can be exposed to the world for all who freely want to come, and see clearly this Christ inside of us?

What if now you and I can become the stories; “Once Upon a Time there was a King (Jesus) who did not live in a far, far, far away land but instead He lives inside of us and we are privileged to allow all who desire to come and read and partake of this kingdom that is available to them not when they just die but in the here and now.” Knowing where the king is you will find His kingdom. That kind of puts the ball in our court doesn’t it? Let me ask you a question, are you ready to play some ball???

STRATEGIC AND ESSENTIAL FOR INTERCESSORS: DEALING WITH ANGER – Barbara Potts

A recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found that 70 percent of Americans are angry because they think our  political system is not working for them.  I must confess that I find it difficult to hear or read some media reports without anger rising within me. We are in turbulent times. Anger and anger-induced violence are rampant across our nation. There were 32 mass killings by firearms in the United States in 2019. Indeed a spirit of anger has been released over America, creating a volatile atmosphere.  Biblically, God’s anger is against sin, but motivated by love. For His desire is to protect His seed. However, unredeemed human anger opens up a portal of agreement with the enemy. We must not allow anger to rise up in us, because, in anger we are giving place to the devil. (see Ephesians 4:26-27) As Believers in Christ, we have all authority over the enemy (Luke 10:19), but we can’t cast out what we are in agreement with. And so we find that the enemy uses our unredeemed anger against us by using our authority to advance his agenda. Consider this PICTURE:  70 percent of Americans are angry – that means that the devil has legal access to do his work through those open portals… and so violence has become a national crisis.

What is the answer?

As we carry the Spirit of Christ, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth (Exodus 34:6), our presence subdues anger. We must not react from our emotions, but respond from compassion and love. Indeed, “a soft answer turns away wrath.” (Proverbs 15:1) As we walk in forgiveness and love, and we speak/release SHALOM wherever we go, LOVE will displace and dis-empower anger and all of its children, including fear, guilt, and rejection.  You remember when Jesus was in the boat with the disciples on the Sea of Galilee during the storm? He did not come in to agreement with their fear – so he could speak with authority to the storm.

Beloved, the enemy is using our anger against us – even our anger against evil…. we MUST get this…. and come in the opposite spirit.  Let’s agree that we will NOT give any place to the devil or come into agreement with him through our thoughts and emotional responses.  Let us instead have these PRAYERFUL responses:

  • Repent for any and all anger you have held against any situation or any person/people. Ask the Lord to help you to respond in LOVE and compassion that will dis-empower anger when you feel anger rise up in you.  DO NOT LET THE SUN GO DOWN ON YOUR ANGER. (Ephesians 4:26)
  • Ask the Lord to release His SHALOM over the nation, over hearts fraught with fear, anger, and retribution; and minds captivated by hatred, suspicion and wounds of the past.
  • Ask the Lord to release His SHALOM that subdues chaos, and brings a spirit of UNITY over houses of government where legislation is being mapped out amidst political dissension.  
  • Ask the Spirit of Christ (love and compassion) to rise up within you, and do not come into agreement with anger, fear or condemnation. Instead, rise up in faith and trust in God to fight the battles against evil. (Isaiah 59:17-18) He loves to execute righteousness and justice in the earth! (Psalm 103:6)

“Who is this coming out of the wilderness leaning upon her Beloved?” Song of Solomon 8:5

Now that we are close to coming out of this time of hiddenness, I have been asking of the Lord. “How do You desire that we, Your Bride, come out of this time? What truths are we to have learned? What do You desire to see in Your Bride that wasn’t there before?” I have heard several others saying they do not want to waste this time we have been given to come away with Him….to allow Him to works in us what He desires.

While I believe there are individual lessons that we have learned in this time, as well as revelations of things that were in our hearts that were not pleasing to Him, I believe that corporately, we have been brought to another way of seeing. Seeing what is really important in our lives. Seeing how we have put “doing” things for Him above just “being” with Him in the secret place. Seeing where we have put doing the church routine above desiring Him over anything else in our gatherings. Seeing our need for family and one another. Seeing how valuable and precious life really is. Seeing that the things we ran to before that really do not satisfy the longing in our hearts for peace and hope. There is another “seeing” that I am beginning to understand further, but that is for another time.

As I was researching the scripture above, I looked up the Hebrew words in the Strongs Concordance and where available, the root of each. I was surprised to find a deeper meaning to this verse than I previously knew. Stay with me because I found this very interesting to where we are in the timing of God.

The words “is this” means “with me is God”, from the root “eth” meaning “with” as in Genesis 5:22 “and Enoch walked with God…” and “el” meaning “God”. Hebrew meaning for “coming” is “to go up” or “to ascend”. Hebrew for the word “wilderness” is “dabar” which means “to speak”.

So I read this as to say to me, “Who is this (walking with me is God) coming (ascending) from the wilderness (where God spoke with me) leaning (supporting myself only) upon my Beloved”. I believe if we have processed all that He had in His design for each one of us, the world will ask these questions. “Who is this one that is so different from the rest? Who is this one who walks with God and hears Him speaking?” For you see, these ones have ascended from places of complacency, lethargy and being lukewarm to ones totally passionate for Him. These ones totally rely and lean upon this One whom they love.

There is Revelation 4:1 “Come up here” that has taken place in those whose desire is for Him. He has called us to walk in an elevated place, higher that where we have walked before. I truly believe we are an Enoch generation that will walk with God as Enoch did! It will be in this ascended place that He will speak His mysteries and teach us His ways. It is here, as we behold Him, that we will become like Him. My brothers and sisters, it is time to arise and come out of this place of hiddenness and to truly reflect the character and heart of Jesus Christ to the world!

Have we, as His body, learned these things well? Only time, circumstances and trials will reveal. My prayer is that we have. The world is waiting upon us…

Stability in the Lord – Karen Austin

Today, I am going to speak from my heart regarding uncertainties. As I was spending time with the Lord today, the word “stability” came to me and I began contemplating its meaning especially in regard to what the world is facing right now. One definition of stability is the strength to stand or endure. The opposite is instability which means “the quality or state of being unstable; lack of stability or firmness. The tendency to behave in an unpredictable, changeable, or erratic manner: emotional instability” as per Merriam-Webster dictionary.

Times of this pandemic has caused many things to become unstable. Things we took for granted are no longer there for us. Jobs were shut down. We can no longer gather at our house of worship. Some have been faced with empty shelves at the grocery store. The ability to visit loved ones or friends is not permitted in many areas. Watching our children/grandchildren play their favorite sport is something we hope to do soon, but the timing of that is also uncertain. So many uncertainties have cause many to become unstable in their emotions when in times past they were as solid as a rock. It is like the floor beneath us is being shaken and what we once depended upon is no longer something we can depend upon.

I feel this is especially true for the Western church. Our brothers and sisters in Christ that live in other areas of the world have faced much persecution and even death for their faith. Others live in areas of deep poverty and have to believe God for every meal to feed their families. I don’t think the Western church and nation has understood just how blessed we are. I sense the greatest enemy we are facing is fear in these times of uncertainty. Afraid a loved one may contact the virus, and if they do, will they live. The lack of employment enabling us to provide an income for our families is another great cause of fear.

I cannot imagine facing what we are facing without having a knowledge of the Father’s love for me and having history of His faithfulness. Over my lifetime, I have seen My Father’s hand provide financially when I did not know how we were going to make it. I have witnessed His healing touch upon those whom I love and even raise them multiple times from their death bed. I have experienced His calming voice speak to my heart in times where there was absolutely no reason for me to experience peace. He has put me back together when I had nothing left inside of me to continue on. You see, I have known Him in the good times and I have experienced His tender care in the hard times. One thing I can tell you is this, He is faithful. The Word says He is close to the brokenhearted. This too, I have experienced.

I encourage you to get to know Him in His Word. Maybe begin reading the Book of Psalms until you find what you are feeling. King David wrote of his ups and downs, but always ends with praising God for His faithfulness. Spend time just talking to the One who loves you more than anyone else on this earth. He is waiting for you to come to Him no matter how unstable you feel…no matter how many times you have failed. No matter how unworthy you may feel. He has answers for those things in your life that seem to have no remedy. He has such peace to give you that you cannot even begin to imagine. Allow Him to bring stability to you in times of uncertainty.

“If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Sometimes We Can Lose Our Balance – Frank Work

The world is turning faster than we can keep up with it. At times, we aren’t even sure if we can keep our balance with all the turmoil that surrounds our lives. The world’s view of relationship, especially marriage, is becoming skewed at best. Divorce rates in the body of Christ are at an all-time high, and we as the church have no one to blame but ourselves. We are allowing the enemy of our souls, to rip the very fabric our vows of matrimony apart at the seams. Marriage is no longer viewed as something sacred, or something to be cherished. It’s a check list of possibilities to that no longer hold any value in the culture of today. We laugh away divorce as though it’s no more of value than a stick of gum, or a penny we find on the street. We aren’t concerned anymore about the likelihood that we will find a lifelong mate, in whom we can place our trust, our devotion, and more importantly, our heart. Why is this? Why aren’t we fighting for our marriages?

Putting things into perspective though, I can say that my wife and I have been close to being casualties of this war against marriages. This battle has been a long and sometimes very brutal conflict, which leads to the death of many marriages and relationships in Christ. The enemy is constantly trying to rip marriages apart, for one of the foundations of our faith is really based on marriage to Jesus, and an understanding of what it means to be a bride as it pertains to the body of Christ, awaiting her bridegroom, who is Jesus.  We watch with jaded eyes’ as our young people are being manipulated by the concepts and precepts of this world, who are embracing a Hellenistic society where everything is permissible, and the idea of “living for the day” is being recited in volume that can’t be hushed by standing by and doing nothing.  We are losing, plain and simple. We are losing a war, which has already been won. We are losing, because we want to lose. We don’t want to fight anymore. We have become so exhausted from the trials of our own lives, that we aren’t willing to fight for the next generation because the scars on our backs are too deep, and too painful.

There is hope though, there is always hope.  J.R.R. Tolkien wrote, “Even Darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer.” Our light into the darkness is the fire of Christ that burns with in each one of us, the light of hope and the light of glory. We aren’t alone by any stretch of the imagination, unless we want to be. Why do we choose to be alone? Because we have allowed ourselves to fall sway under the influence of many possible reasons. Shame, guilt, condemnation, fear and the list are endless as to what may influence our choices to stand and fight as a congregational team, or stand and fall as an army of one. I in the past have often thought, “I don’t need anyone else; I can do this on my own.” That my friend is a lie, plain and simple, a lie we tell ourselves on a daily basis, either we are choosing to make wrong decisions, or we are being influenced by the power of the air, or really both.

We will struggle in this life time; we will struggle as a Christian. For you to believe anything different is to believe in a doctrine of demons. This new wave of prosperity Christianity is robbing God of His glory, and robbing the believer of the true power of Jesus. Why would James write the following scripture?

James 1:2-4 “2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”

Our faith must and will be tested. Our marriages will be tested, our relationships will be tested. Our belief system will be tested. Everything in our lives will be tested, so that through this testing our faith will be established in Jesus, and not in our own strength. We cannot and will not allow this world to catch us off balance! We will stand and fight the accuser of our soul and the enemy of our Lord. We must war for the salvation of our children and our grandchildren. This isn’t a choice; this is a mandate. Do not let the blood be on your hands because you sat and did nothing, when God in His word warns us. Stay with me folks, don’t let me lose you, for scripture will always speak in ways that man cannot.

Ezekiel 33:1-6

33 Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, 3 when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, 4 then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. 5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.

Simply put; if we know the truth, and the truth is Jesus, and his scriptures are His words; if we sit and do nothing, then the blood of the lost and the broken will be on our hands. If we do not warn those who have fallen sway under the power of darkness, we will answer for not heeding the trumpet call of the Lord.

Is there someone that you know needs your prayers? Pray for them. Is there a co-worker who you know is distraught and struggling? Ask the Lord to give you the words of comfort to speak. Is there a marriage, or better yet, is your marriage breaking apart before your eyes? Stop fighting one another, swallow your hurt, your pride and your shame, and seek the Lord together. Has your life become cold, and lonely? Do not fret and do not fear, because my friend you are not alone in this fight. The body of Christ will stand will with you. The Lord of Host will stand with you. I will stand with you. Believe in prayer, believe in scripture, most of all, believe in Jesus, the lover of our soul and the Redeemer of our spirits.
