Anchors in the Storm of Life (Part 2) – Barbara Potts

This is the conclusion of Barbara’s article “Anchors in the Storm of life. If you haven’t a chance to read part 1, you can find it here, Anchors in the Storm of Life (Part 1)

Anchor 5: The deepest darkness cannot overwhelm the Presence, peace, or the love of God.

Verse 5 of Psalm 23:

“You become my delicious feast even when my enemies dare to fight.
You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit;
you give me all I can drink of you until my heart overflows.”

John the Baptist said to those gathered to hear his message of repentance, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (Luke 3:16) Jesus is not only our Savior, but the Baptizer of power that the enemy cannot withstand.

Paul said to the Corinthian Church that the Holy Spirit in us is to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. (2 Corinthians 2:15)

Isaiah speaks for the Lord: “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’(Isaiah 41:10)

Anchor 6: He anoints and empowers me, and surrounds me with His comforting, strengthening, and overwhelming Presence.

Verse 6 of Psalm 23

“So why would I fear the future?
For your goodness and love pursue me all the days of my life.

Then afterward, when my life is through,
I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you!”

Isaiah prophesies to us:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.
For I am the Lord your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” (Isaiah 43:1-3)

Psalm 136 is a psalm of thanksgiving to God for His enduring mercy.  It begins with:

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.”

The Apostle John  tells us of God’s unfathomable love:  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Anchor 7: My future is safe and secure in His goodness and love – and I will be with Him forever!

In summary, as we embrace these ANCHORS of FAITH we will find stability through the storms of life:

1- Our God is a God of Safety and ABUNDANCE! – With Jesus as my friend and shepherd I will always be safe in his arms and have what I need; even more than enough!

2 – God offers me a quiet place of peace and rest in Him at all times, for His Presence restores and revives my life.  Do I go there often to commune with Him?

3 – God’s pathways bring pleasure and joy, and His Word lights my path with revelation. He leads me on a path of righteousness so I can bring Him praise and honor

4 – I am empowered by God to endure and prosper in every temptation and trial of life, and to navigate through the deepest darkness.

5 – The deepest darkness cannot overwhelm the Presence, peace, or the love of God.

6 – He anoints and empowers me, and surrounds me with His comforting, strengthening, and overwhelming Presence.

7 – My future is safe and secure in His goodness and love – and I will be with Him forever!

Speaking the Word of the Lord in Power – Karen Austin

How many of us believe that our words have power? But do we really? We know that scripture says out of the abundance of our hearts, our mouth speaks. [Luke 6:45] It is in times like these, when the pressure is on, that what we speak is what we are really believing. I have to ask myself, what is it that I have been saying? What is the greater truth that I’m believing in my heart? This is why scripture says for us to hide His Word in our hearts so that is what we will not sin against Him and so what comes out of our mouth is releasing His Kingdom power.

As I have said before, this is our time. We were born for this. It is time that we speak and act different than the world. How else are they going to know who to come to for help in their times of distress if we act and speak like those who have no hope? In the past they may have heard us proclaim Jesus and His promises, but they are looking at us now to see if we really believe what we have been saying.

So we, as His ambassadors on the earth, have to come up higher in our believing and in our speaking. It is time to agree with Heaven. We have to have Heaven’s words in our mouth which release peace, power, healing and hope. He is looking for those who will partner with Him.

Prayer:

“Father, I repent for agreeing with the spin the world has taken on this virus pandemic. I understand that is all they know, but it is not all that I know. I know Your Word is true and I choose to agree with You. May we be instruments of Your peace and healing in this time of distress in our nation, in our cities and in our families. May we lead people out of chaos and into knowing Your divine peace, healing and Your abundant love. Thank You Father, for You have chosen us to be alive in this time. May we rise up to accomplish all that you have assigned us to do to expand Your Kingdom in the sphere of authority You have given us. We look to You and praise You for Your redemptive purposes in times such as these, We rest in You.”

May the words that come out of my mouth and the musings of my heart meet with Your gracious approval,” Psalm 19:14

Stepping into Greater Authority – Karen Austin

You are stepping into the realm of greater authority. I am giving you understanding that it is OK to use that authority. You will know when it is time to be silent and when it is time to speak.

I did not say “Sit still” or “Lay still” (as many are doing) and you would see My salvation. I said “Do not fear and stand*still: and see my salvation” [Exodus 14:13]. Keeping the peace at all costs is not what I spoke of in My Word. I said to remain in peace as much as it is up to you [Romans 12:18].

I am giving My Bride, those I have called, authority to lead with a spiritual backbone, which is actually the rod of iron that I spoke of in My Word [Revelation 2:26,27]. This is not a time to let down your guard. It is time take the land and rescue those who are trapped in darkness. It is time for those who know My Name to stand in the face of that which opposes My Word and My will. It is time to stand in your place of spiritual authority and take a stand for righteousness. For the enemy knows his time is short and he is no longer hiding in the shadows. His tactics are being made bare for all to see. The enemy is a legalist and will step through even the smallest defect in righteousness and truth. But know that your voice – even when quietly spoken – carries greater authority than the enemy’s roar, when you walk with Me and speak My Word.

*stand – Strong’s #3320 – To take one’s stand, to station oneself, taking a stand to fight

Walking in a Place of Authority – Karen Austin

I had a dream awhile back where I sensed such an overshadowing of Holy Spirit. I can’t explain it… but as I began to dream, I felt His Presence and His power going through my physical body.

In the dream I was driving to my former place of employment, Magistrate Court. I stopped at the bank on the way and it was taking so long for them to process my transaction, I began to get anxious, but every time I would look at the clock, it continued to say 3:30 p.m., reassuring me I still had time since I was to be at work at 4 p.m.

I finally got to work. My job on this shift was to work the front desk and oversee the judge’s court docket. The scene changed as I was walking up to the podium where the court docket was lying. The scene had now become a football field full of spectators in the banisters. As I walked up the isle to the podium, something came over me and I began walking in such confidence and authority! It was no longer just “me”, but a Presence was upon me. People began stepping aside to let me through because of the authority of His Presence that was upon me. I looked up and saw my husband sitting in the bleachers and I could tell from the look on his face that he recognized there was something different about me. It was no longer me, but I was completely overshadowing by Him!

As I got to the side of the podium, I noticed a lot of commotion from the people in the stands. I somehow knew someone important was coming onto the field by the excitement of the people. I looked and it was Jesus in His majesty! People we completely awe struck! Then I woke up.

I sensed that this dream was not about me, but about His people. We are going about our daily activities and its demands, but in the back of our minds we wonder if we are going to be late and we are getting anxious…like it is taking so long for the things of God that we so desire to see. But as I looked at the clock, time was standing still, assuring me that I would not be late. And so it is with you. This move of God and your involvement is all in the timing of the Lord. You will not be late if you are moving towards Him. My job was to oversee the judge’s docket, which is a place of authority He has given us. He desires to give us insight as to the timing of His appointments.

Just as I sensed an overshadowing of such authority and power of His Presence that people took notice, His Bride is stepping into a dispensation of time when He is going to overshadow us and we will be turned into another man, as we know happened to Saul. People will not be able to deny that the Lord is with us.

As Jesus walked upon the football field in my dream, this is like unto the soon revealing of Jesus in such a way that all people will see Him and be in awe of His glory and His majesty. The fear of the Lord is coming upon people, especially those in His church. We will see Him as He is and great awe and hunger for His holiness will once again be prominent among His people. We will become a people of holiness walking in the fear of the Lord. We will walk in humility, love and compassion. This is the church the world is waiting to see.
